           We have introduced a dressage competition for the Saturday, which will run alongside the showing and jumping classes.  It is open to all ages and all ponies (i.e. Show Ponies and Show Hunters, Working Hunters, Heritage etc).  Competitors and ponies can compete using any bridle e.g snaffle, double bridle etc, but martingales are not allowed.
          
           In addition for those who are jumping in open classes (Heritage and WHP) on the Saturday we have added a combined training section whereby your jumping marks from your open classes can be added to your dressage marks and prizes will be awarded,
 
           The presentation of the dressage and combined training will take place in the evening reception.

About Us

Area 12 covers the whole of Wales and is one of the 25 regions of the BSPS. The British Show Pony Society was formed in 1949 to promote, improve and protect the showing of children's riding ponies. Since these early days the society has expanded out of all recognition and now has a huge number of classes from lead rein to intermediate and associate horse classes.

Area 12 have been particularly successful since its formation and have often won the area competitions for Working Hunter Ponies, Show Hunter Ponies and Show ponies, and once taking the overall combined competition. They have also enjoyed great success in providing the Welsh Working Hunter Pony team for International competitions.

AREA 12 WALES MEMBERS ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN AREA AND INTERNATIONAL TEAMS COMPETITIONS.
