Hello everyone
I would just like to start off by saying a big thank you to Katie for
previously giving us the Area 12 news, and I just hope that I can do as good a
job of keeping you all updated.
So here we are at the end of yet another season, and before we know it the
winter qualifiers will be on us. The Horse of the Year Show is now here and I
am very pleased to say that many of our members have qualified this year and I
would just like to wish them all the best of luck and I look forward to hearing
all the results.
The Summer Champs have now long been and gone. Fortunately, the weather
held out and I hope you all had a great time, judging from your results you
certainly did!
Area 12 is always very strong in the WHP section and this year was no
exception with the Wales Red Intercountry Team (Jenny Yate, Danielle
Gardham, Nicole George and Bea Bea Meyrick) coming 2nd.
Our members were also very successful in their other classes and here are some
of their results:

The combination missed the final day of the show to
compete at the Pony Club Novice Eventing champs, where they finished 9th with a
clear show jumping and cross-country. Congratulations Bea.

It is not only our WHP’s that did well and I would like to congratulate the Area 12 SHP Premier League team who came 4th.
While some of us were the other side of the Country in Grantham others stayed closer to home at Pembrokeshire County Show, where they had to brave the soaking wet conditions.
Jessica John and Seren Tywyll Dark Star jumped a fantastic clear round to win the Open Intermediate and they also went on to take Champion. Congratulations Jess.
Sian Thomas kindly sent me some other results from
Pembrokeshire County Show. Sian and Tansy III were the winners of
the 14hh WHP section with Tarryn Williams and Romp ‘n’ Rome
coming 2nd. The 13hh winner was Sarah
Hughes on Charmaine,
who also came Reserve Champion. Alice Viles won the mixed height
Restricted WHP on Simply Spider and Ella Gee and Oriental
Barnowl were the winners of the Nursery Stakes. Well done all of
you.
Congratulations also
go to Katie Grills who was champion SHP on Bellevue Scotsman and to Jenna
Davies who was M&M WHP champion on her Connemara Park Playboy.
I’ll just finish off by once again wishing all of you competing at HOYS the
best of luck and I’m not sure if any of you are off to the Heritage Champs but
if you are good luck.
If you have any news to report please send it to me before the 14th
Oct.
See you all soon
